Raphaël Varane was born 25 April 1993 in the city of lille  in the Nord-Pas De-Calais regeion. He is a French football player who plays for Spanish Giants club Real Madrid in La-Liga. Varane began his football career in the Arrondissement of Lille playing for local club AS Hellemmes at the age of seven. After spending 2 years at the club, in July 2002, he enter professional club Lens RC despite some interest from Derby De Nord rivals and hometown club lille OSC. He primarily plays as a Central Defender and a Defensive Midfilder often acting as a player who supports the main defenders, as by possessing loose balls, etc in the latter role. After returning full-time to Lens, Varane quickly climbed up the club's youth ranks. In the 2010-11 season Varane signed his first professional contract. He made his amateur debut in the club's Starting league match of the campaign in a 2–0 victory over Drancy. He appeared as a Beginier in the club's next nine matches with the team losing only one of them. In late October of the campaign, Varane was called up to the main team by manager to train ahead of the club's match against on Montpellier 6 November. He trained with the team for the full week and, due to an injury to centre back Yahia Aladdine, Varane was surprisingly named to the begining lineup. In the match, he played the full 90 minutes in a 2–0 victory. In January 2011, Varane was the subject of transfer consideration with the player being linked to several clubs. In an effort to suppress the interest, on 3rd  February 2011, he signed a 2 year contract increase with Lens until 2015. On 8 May, He scored his 1st professional goal in a 1–1 draw with Caen. On 22 June 2011, Lens president Gervais Martel confirmed to a group of followers at a club meeting that Varane will be joining Spanish club Real Madrid.Varane signed a 6 year contract with the club and the transfer fee is to be in the range of €10 million. Varane was assigned the number 19 shirt and made his club debut for Real Madrid in the club's opening pre-season fixture against American outfit Los Angeles Galaxy. Varane made his competitive debut for Real Madrid on 21 September in the team's league match against Racing Santandar. He started the match at centre back  beside Ricardo Carvalho as the match ended 0–0. In the clubs next league match three days later against Rayo Volcanno, He started and scored his first goal for the club after a flying back-heel shot following a Mesut ozil from corner. Real Madrid won the match 6–2. His goal made him the youngest foreign player at 18 years and 152 days to score a goal in a competitive match for Real Madrid.On 30 January 2013, Varane made his El Classico debut against Barcelona FC in the 2012-13 copa del rey and put in a man of the match performance, as he stopped a group of hard attempts from Barcelona, including a shot from xavi harnandes that he cleared from the goal line. He capped his good performance with a headed goal in the game, which ended 1–1. He was also take prizes  the man of the match and also became the second-youngest foreign player to score for Real Madrid in a Classico match.He also featured in Madrid's UEFA Champions League match against Man United on March 5 2013, in which Madrid deleted Man United following the arguable red card received by Nani.
