Diego Lopez Rodriguez was born 3 November 1981 in Paradela, Lugo, Galicia. As a youth graduate from hometown's Lugo CD he moved to Real Madrid at 19 and after a loan at another side from the club AD alcorcon, he moved up to Real Madrid's B-Team, Begining his second season, which lasted in Segunda Division improvement. Lopez served as first-team backup to iker casilas in the following 2 la liga session : in the ending stage of 2005-06 he appeared in back to back away wins, against osasuna and racing da santandar. in the last time of june 2007 lopez signed for villarreal for a reported fee 6 million pound and opening the season as 2nd-choice to Uruguayan Sebastian Viera Galain, after a result of good performance (He played in the UEFA Champions League and Local League cups), Next he was awarded first-team action, Completing the season with 20 appearances. In 2008-09 Lopez was ever present, assisting Villarreal complete fifth in the league as Lopez did'nt miss one 1 minute of action. Lopez featured in all but one league games in 2011-12, being kick out against Sevilla FC in 2-2 draw , in the 2nd game of the season. On 22th May 2012 , He signed with Sevilla FC for 5 years for a reported fee of 3.5 million pound. He break first choice status during his spell with Andres Palop. On 25th January 2013, Lopez come back to Real Madrid after beginner Iker Casillas suffered a Left Hand injury, signing for 3.5 million pound up to june 2017. Shortly upon arriving, he confirmed he had always dreamed of coming back to the Famous Spanish club. López played his first game in his 2nd spell on 30th January 2013, in a 1– 1 draw against Barcelona FC for the season's Spanish Cup Semifinal.
